While
respecting the rich history of the Union Club, the newly completed
Second Century Renovation Project was designed to recognize
the changing needs of a membership that is becoming younger
and more diverse.
Major
renovations to the clubhouse include a new state-of-the-art
fitness center; a new bar and casual, bistro-style dining
area; a formal a la carte dining room overlooking Euclid Avenue;
and advanced technology in the private meeting rooms, including
a formal board room complete with videoconferencing capabilities.
Club amenities include an attached parking garage, convenient
for entertaining clients and guests. Other improvements include
a renovated third-floor kitchen and new ladies' restrooms
on the first and second floors.
The
new Fitness Center is open weekdays between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m.
There is a steam room in the Men's Locker Room and a sauna
in the Women's. Massage therapy and personal training
are available, and the Club's executive chef has created a
new take-out menu for members on the go after a workout.
Other
new dining options include an evening bar-fare menu for those
enjoying a cocktail in the renovated bar. The club's Business
Center offers an exceptional temporary office space, complete
with Internet connections, cable TV and a copy/fax machine.
During
the project, the board voted that monthly dues entitle a member's
spouse to all club amenities, including the Fitness Center
. The accounting office can even arrange separate accounts
for spouses.
